GREEN SCREEN EXPERIENCE DISCUSSION

At the February and March meetings the club had a green screen background and lights set up for members to shoot some footage to experiment with the green screen technique. At this meeting we will discuss members’ experiences, bring up any questions members may have, and hopefully show some of the results.

Denis will discuss his experience putting his “Elephant Seals Mating Game” video on YouTube and will explain the YouTube options and resources available to the video owner.

SOLID STATE CAMCORDERS

Denis will show a 7-minute Sony video, featuring George Lucas, about the use of Sony’s new line of solid state camcorders at the USC Film School. The video features professional class camcorders in the $6k+ price range, but solid state prosumer class camcorders are available in the $1k-2k price range.

A 5-minute short, “Iceland Aurora Borealis” by Alister Chapman, using the Sony camcorder goes over Interval Shooting, Time Lapse and Slow Shutter strategies for shooting the Northern Lights. Poor conditions limited Alister’s results, so Denis added a brief “Northern Lights” glimpse using Google stills.
